kind of darkly funny that "gender studies" is the stereotypical "useless degree" because gender studies will help you understand a large and important chunk of the current psychosis in american life

It was fairly common when I was in college for some professors to regularly give 0s for missing 1 key aspect of the assignment.
Instructors at the university level aren't professional educators. Their grading criteria can be as strict and unorthodox as they like, as long as it's consistent.

Btw about this from Lizza's reply: Olivia and I lived together for 4+ years (4 b'days, 4 Xmases, 4 anniversaries). That's like $1250 of jewelry per celebration.
