Tech companies have a weird kink for keeping customers safe from themselves.
Just give us the choice and put a paragraph in the T&Cs saying "we bear no responsibility if you damage your device doing this"

Google is building a giant, dystopian wall around the Android garden.
Over the summer they quietly stopped releasing the source code for "Vanilla" Android, slowing GrapheneOS to a halt.
Now this.
Soon, being able to manage your own files on your own smartphone will be a luxury of the past.

Fuck the show "Big Brother"
I am tired of it appearing on my feed. Always that hashtag BB27.
I've never been interested in it. I've never watched it in my life, follow no accounts related to it, and have never sought any information about it on this app or liked any posts.

google needs to stop looking at iphone and trying to copy what they do. Accept that the Android is a different fucken phone.
The people who like iPhone are not going to switch, and the people who like Android (quite plenty of them!) dont like what iPhone does.

The thing is, I unironically don't care if the Online Safety Act actually leads to child abuse cases on the internet dropping to 0. I'm sure reading people's minds and arresting those with violent thoughts would reduce murder cases to 0, but I'd still be against it as it is dystopian.

Android appears to have just announced plans to lock down like iPhone. No more writing software, not even on devices you own, without getting permission from Google first. In other words, an Android device will no longer be a device you "own".

Won't someone think of the birds and bats?
As a young person, I hate those old people who for the past 20 or so years have pushed back on building anything and now complain bills are through the roof, and thanks to them most of my generation will never be able to afford a home.

New petition: Halt the Pylon Network Expansion & support underground & undersea cabling
We, the undersigned, urgently call on the UK Government to immediately halt and reassess the proposed expansion of the national grid network, which we believe could threaten irreversible harm to our natural environment, wildlife (including protected birds and bats), and rural communities.

We made the "Road Safety Act" to protect children by banning them from leaving the house.
If you disagree with it, then you're on the side of dangerous drivers.

I've realised the Online Safety Act CANNOT be beaten unless we make it a dealbreaker issue in elections.
I'm talking refusing to vote for any candidate for MP unless they commit to repealing it, and demanding local/devolved candidates speak against it.

100,000 signatures on this petition. Let's turn that into a million. Let's overtake that stupid "hold another election" petition from last year or the one to remain in the EU. Let's show the government we won't give up our privacy without a fight.
