Hello. I’m new to Bluesky, please feel free to follow me. I hear Elon Musk killed online journalism and this platform may be its resurrection.
I like reading and talking about sport, psychology, sport psychology and Everton FC; amongst other things. I also like it when people don’t drop litter.
Customary blue-tinted specs Anfield derby post:
Maybe the first derby for the last 5 years where EFC truly have ‘nothing’ to lose. Have a suspicion the ‘Dithery Dave’ derbies of old are a thing of the past, Moyes is a different animal now. A few issues behind the scenes for LFC. Just win Everton FFS

Pure filth on a Monday morning 🤢
18 years ago today:

A cheeky chop inside, then a trademark trivela from Ricardo Quaresma vs Belgium.

You filthy, rotten scoundrel. There are kids watching.

Would’ve liked to have seen Chermiti given the last 10-15mins there. Beto leggy and ineffective. Why name players on the bench if they’re not capable of 15 mins?

@evertonspares.bsky.social after a spare for Brentford tonight. Can meet at or near the ground. RT appreciated, cheers.

Also refreshing to hear David Moyes suggest that Everton’s ambition is a fair bit higher than that of a team like Brentford. A *fact* that is too often unspoken or misunderstood in modern football. A man who really understands the club.

Thoughts on David Moyes - 6 weeks after his appointment.
Has done an incredible job. There’s no Evertonian who wouldn’t have taken the position we are in from where we were if it had been offered back in Jan. What’s his secret? There is no secret…

A truly mind-boggling stat. Can’t believe we had to suffer that gruff-voiced, nose-stroking, gaslighting, out-of-his-depth, fanbase-alienating, joy-subtracting charlatan for so long. Up The Toffees!
Everton in the Premier League this season:

Wins:

Under Sean Dyche - 3 in 19 games
Under David Moyes - 4 in 6 games

Goals scored from open play:

Under Sean Dyche - 7 in 19 games
Under David Moyes - 8 in 6 games

David Moyes has gone from the stern uncle you were scared to talk about your career plans with, to big softy grandad you can’t wait to have a coffee with. And I’m all for it! UTFT!!

And they call us bitter 🤣
It has to be said, and fair fcukin' do's to him -
But Virgil van Dijk is on a par with Emlyn Hughes as being, from an Evertonian perspective, the biggest tit ever to wear a red shirt.
His comments, about that being Everton's cup final tonight.
Grow the fcuk up, you spoilt brat!

If this was in a comedy sketch show you would laugh and applaud the writers.
When Trump claimed the Bible was his "favorite" book yet couldn't name a single verse when asked.

That is scandalous from Postecoglu. They concede 2 in the first 5 mins of the 2nd half and he takes off Richarlison, who put Spurs ahead in the 1st half. Just come home Richy lad.

The internet has turned into a mishmash of bots, pop-up ads and pay walls making it almost impossible to navigate any longer. They should scrap it and start again. Internet 2.0.

Antoine Semenyo just exudes class. Absolute monster of a player. Would love Everton to make every attempt to sign him in the summer. Strong, pacey, skillful with plenty of goals and assists. Top player and still young.

He’s got grey hair but we don’t care, Davey Davey Moyes!

This really is all the new owners should need to read to realise Dyche is at the end of his road. This proves he is purposely aiming low. There’s no desire to even attempt to punch upward. So, so sick of this anti-competitiveness, anti-football, anti-enjoyment every week. Get RID.
🗣️“At the beginning, there was all this noise about we’ve got this big window and we can do this and we can do that. The last season in the ‘Old Lady’ and all that sort of stuff. And I made it clear. I said, I don’t know where that’s all come from.” - Sean Dyche

Absolutely embarrassing. Only 31 goals scored also. #DycheOut
Everton have won just 8 league games in 2024 - their fewest in a calendar year since 1997 (also 8). #EFC

Magnificent.. a player of and for the time, a 34 year old’s Everton hero, Duncan Fergusson.
It’s 27 years since Duncan Ferguson made history at Goodison.

Everton get it in the mixer. Big Dunc attacks with his trademark ferocity… and scores the Premier League’s first hat-trick of headers.

Another great point for EFC. Have to hand it to Dyche - he has delivered as Everton manager. Frustrating at times, yes, but our resources and squad for the past 3 years have required his cautious approach. Job well done Sean.
