Perpetual student. Just doing my best.
I am looking for a primer on why and how Reform is a far-right party when it comes to the political spectrum.

Ideally something that analyses their statements, policies, and general approach.

Can anyone help?

Gosh I’ve not posted here for a while. I should really put the app on the front page of my phone so I remember it exists.

Anyway, here’s a photo of my latest project that involves quilting and larp - two of my favorite hobbies.

Every time I get up early for a sprint race I regret it.

They’re just a bit boring.
A hive of activity on the grid 👀

Just booked my next two @openuniversity.bsky.social modules.

More fucking reflective practice! 😂🙄😅

The man in the orange jacket is Paul Meade, a brilliant motorsports marshal.

He is comforting a Rookie F1 driver in tears who just ditched his car before even started the race.

Contrast to Helmet Marko who suggested the driver was weak for displaying emotion. #F1

Two more months to go and I’ve already scored high enough on the assignments for my first two @openuniversity.bsky.social modules that I could stop working today and still pass.

So that’s seven assignments down and four more to go before the end of May!

It’s not an exaggeration - my life has changed now I’ve been taking Magnesium Glycinate supplements for a week.

Perimenopause has given me insominia and for the first time in a year I’m both getting to sleep easily AND sleeping all through the night.

Magic! ✨

I don't know who at @oulibrary.bsky.social thought that this was a good example of how to do secondary referencing, but it needs a sense check.

According to the Guardian today, a report suggests almost one in 10 women who died at the hands of men in the UK over the past 15 years were killed by their sons.

That’s a remarkable and tragic statistic in the history of femicide.

I wonder how many men are killed by their daughters in comparison.

Turns out us Brits have awful lot to say about Vance on the BBC website. 😂

Love that the weird academics in ivory towers might be the ones to actually stand up to Musk.

Finished my Open Uni essay but somehow got eight units to catch up on before the end of this weekend. Three aren't compulsory, but I'd still like to do them.

AND I have to somehow fit in a binge-watch of Drive to Survive this weekend and a trip to the National Herb Centre!

And yet, people still seem to think that Israel is on the right side of history.

Whoever thought Harvard referencing, with its need to add letters to years to differentiate different sources in the text, was better than footnotes is having a fucking laugh.

Seriously. Were they drunk? High? Having a mid-life crisis?

Profoundly disappointed that #Gladiators tonight included a sexist “(I fucked your) mum joke.”

The gamesmanship is making the show unpleasant to watch.

Me: I’m really not that great at writing, it’s not my specialty and I’m nothing compared to the writers I most admire

[I read some of the stuff my peers are writing]

Me: you know what, I am a very good writer

I am writing another Open University essay.

Once again, it has a substantial reflective component to the work.

So far, four of five assignments have involved reflective components, wholly or partly.

My patience is wearing thin.

Increasingly I’m understanding that the UK needs to disentangle itself from anything to do with the USA. We cannot have our own policies and economy tied to anything the US does.

Their political landscape is too volatile; such drastic changes in leadership are certainly bad for my own business.

Managed to get my essay finished before the midday deadline.

I feel like it’s one of the worst assignments I’ve ever written. Therefore I’ll get top marks for it. I know how this fucking stupid game works.

It has so far taken me more than two whole days to write a 1250-word, first-year Open University essay.

Almost every assignment I've had so far on my two Level 1 courses with the OU has been utter nonsense and peculiarly hard to answer meaningfully.

I am bored of Level 1 study now.

Today, I entered the world of plumbing.

I am replacing my radiator control valves with smart wifi versions.

This is dumb, and I'm already lost. I'm glad I didn't choose a career in plumbing.

Mentally exhausted and burnt out, so I took the day off at late notice.

Of course, I still have a uni essay to write today.

And I need to write up some personal notes about a work project I recently launched.

And maybe I'll read a book as background for a new work project.

Oh... wait.

Today, I encountered a view that advertising 999 as an emergency number in the UK is colonialist. Can anyone shed any light on that?

I am seeking resources about activism, making change, and community leadership for younger teenagers.

Do you have anything?

I think I've hit peak academic with my new card catalogue.

It's handmade by Serota of London, and the workmanship is beautiful.
