Anybody else who is going to the no kings protest this Saturday with me, stay safe. Know your exits, keep your head on a swivel, and be ready for anything.
History is rarely a pacifist.

I am afraid, I am angry, I am saddened. But more than anything I am grieving the freedom I was promised as a child. What was my right given by my “great nation”
I am grieving for my country.
I am grieving for my home.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Strengthening unions and fighting for higher wages.

Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare...

It’s notable that the double Nazi salute is not only clear, it’s also perfectly in line with Elon Musk and Trump’s ideology of white genocide, great replacement theory, and the cult of reproduction.

And Nazis are very much feeling empowered to be visible today.

A lot happened for me today, both good and bad. But it wasn’t until I saw a video of Steve from Blues Clues just asking about everyone’s day and then staying silent for the rest of the video, listening, that I cried.
It’s a proper day for crying.
