The evidence shows this hasn't happened in Leith - overall traffic levels are down across the area, including on all boundary roads except one.

The vast majority of contacts I've had from constituents are supportive of the LTN, and the proportion in support rises the longer the benefits are felt.

Of course the council needs to constantly look to improve it, but I have no doubt it was the right decision and has improved Leith.

No the bollard has been vandalised and stolen multiple times. Rather than replacing the same bollard for it to be stolen again, officers are looking at a more robust solution.
chasbooth.bsky.social
Walkabout with community council members & council officer to discuss improvements to #Leith #LTN in particular the Tolbooth Wynd disappearing bollard.

Very frustrating the council hasn't used the (very welcome) Linksview House refurbishment to tackle transport issues here - I'm pursuing this.

I’m pleased to be proposing this motion today 🇵🇸

The Scottish Government took a big step forward in supporting BDS calls from Green MSPs, but now they must do the same for Councils ⚖️

New powers need to be granted to local authorities or else the government position is just warm words ❌ 💬 🤷

Someone else raised this with me today actually. I'll ask officers what the current situation is.

I tried out the new Edinburgh cycle hire scheme today. Useful assistance going up Scotland Street & Dublin Street but the motor seemed a little inconsistent.

Booking, unlocking & locking process on the app seemed pretty seamless though. 👍

update from officers on the reason for this;

Internet, I need your help please.

In reply to a Q from @kate-c.bsky.social at Edinburgh council on Thursday, the council leader said "Cllr Day has made an apology through the media" [for incidents catalogued in the Dunion report].

I can't find this apology. Can anyone else?

@lothianbuses.bsky.social the 16 is diverted via North Junction Street but it's not showing on the app at the Prince Regent St bus stop. Why not, and can you fix this please? Thanks.

The area of Edinburgh's cycle hire scheme looks pretty limited for the public launch next week. I hope this can be expanded soon, in particular to include #Leith.

chasbooth.bsky.social
Yes, that is fair criticism. Sorry!
chasbooth.bsky.social
This is welcome news, but I still have concerns about how this decision was made, and whether the needs of disabled folk and those with limited mobility were adequately considered in the process. Along with my Labour & SNP ward colleagues, we have agreed the joint statement attached.

chasbooth.bsky.social
Constituents have been in touch to raise concerns about the removal of Kirkgate benches. I share those concerns, and have expressed them to council officers.

Last night I received an email from a senior council officer confirming that the benches will be returned on Monday.

Agree. Four years after the collapse of the previous Edinburgh cycle hire scheme, this one is long overdue.
chasbooth.bsky.social
I share your concern. I’m told that geofencing technology has improved considerably in recent years and the operator has measures in place to tackle incorrect parking & clutter. Only time will tell whether these are effective.
