Just for the record this is a stupid headline. The robots are carrying out automated steps moving samples around and using vision to apply tools. They don't "know" what they are doing and certainly have no conception(!) of what a baby, human, or conception are. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...
Robots are learning to make human babies. Twenty have already been born.
One in six people of reproductive age suffer from infertility. Start-ups are using AI-powered robots to increase IVF success rates and lower costs.

The year is 2025, Google has finally found a use-case for AI: to compete with Chegg and Cliff’s Notes

So, uh... I just did a Google search which was not about homework... because I haven't been in school in decades, and I got this pop up from Google. And, like, I actually think there are ways to use AI in school properly, but this kind of advertising from Google seems... super sketchy.

Earth Day is a reminder that we only have one planet. Sometimes, it takes seeing Earth from space to truly grasp how precious it is. 🧵⬇️ (1/4)
A view of Earth rising above the Moon's horizon, taken from space. The Moon's barren, gray surface stretches across the lower portion of the image, while Earth appears as a small, vibrant blue-and-white sphere against the vast blackness of space.

Two of the 200+ awesome delivery robots that drove around ribotics lab the past 2 days! Made by our year 2 TU Delft BSc Mechanical Engineering students who knew nothing about robotics, ROS & electronics 2 weeks ago! I kept the batmobile for my office. #AcademicSky #Engineering #engineeringeducation

I was a member of the panel that produced this report. All of us have spent our careers working on AI. Amongst the hypesters that is probably seen as a disqualification for understanding anything about AI. gizmodo.com/ai-experts-s...
AI Experts Say We’re on the Wrong Path to Achieving Human-Like AI
An extensive report on the future of AI research indicated that there's skepticism about current approaches to AGI.

Maybe robotics researchers like me often forget how brains work 😅

Why should we trust what this blogpost says? They also state: “Current frontier AIs are vastly better than humans at text prediction and knowledge tasks.” Which does not correspond with many experiences of experts with “frontier AI” models.

Today in our AI future: someone on LinkedIn posted that humans have the same biases as AI (and tagged me since my 2017 paper showed this), and the Berlin newspaper complained because google maps hadn’t reflected the surprise transit strike.

Hilfe, Stau!

Was sagen Karten-dienste wie „Google Maps" dazu?
an.

There is no space for racism in the EU.

No one should be denied a job, home, or opportunity because of their race or ethnic background.

On International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and every day, the EU stands united against racism, for a #UnionOfEquality.
An image shows two firefighters with shovels on top of a torn-down building. One is overlayed in yellow, the other in blue. The words "United in diversity" are at the top left corner, and the European Commission logo is in the bottom right corner.

“But I just make this basic point: access to British society and our economy is a privilege – it’s not a right. And none of our basic protections for children and vulnerable people are up for negotiation.” I hope all our legislators and governments will stand for this.
