lately i'm feeling like this style of crouched calabash bowl is becoming my favorite to turn. this one jumped off the lathe 5 times before it was done, could've been noticably bigger, and has some cracks that go all the way through. still, it's lovely padauk, very solid, and it makes me happy.

thanks! nothing like it. here's the recipe. it's a craig claibourne. basically foolproof. i sub turkey for the beef and serve it over rice with colby-jack and sour cream/greek yogurt. i usually make the spice mix ahead of time and just do the chopping and cooking on the day.
