We can comprehend it. We just don't understand why you call a perfectly good scone a biscuit. That said, the sausage gravy is a good addition. All in all, good pile of carbs and grease: better than our beans on toast, worse than our full English breakfast. Solid effort.

That's not the true meaning of Christmas! The true meaning of Christmas is to remind yourself why your chosen family matters more than your assigned one!

It's her take on magic as coming from inconsistencies that is the most clever take. Whether that's from inconsistencies in translation (babel) or logic (katabasis), I think it's a very unique and believable magical system she is building. Magic-as-loophole is fantastic.

Listen, I came here to roll dice, not to role play!

I'm not happy with the second couplet of the first stanza there, it was a deliberate reference to "Dieu et mon droit", but I feel like it's clumsy. I'd discard the draft, but then the Wombles will come for me.

Underground, overground, Wombling free!
Be not afraid of the Wombles you see,
Burning all litterbugs in radiant light,
Their crusade of cleanliness for God and their right!

Seraph Bulgaria... he can remember the void that existed before there was time...

Your 4 year old doesn't know that you selfishly stole his vaccines and gave him a preventable illness that destroyed his immune system and led to years of suffering. But your 10 year old will google that shit. And they will never forgive you. And you deserve that hate plus more.

Oh. Well I'm out of coping mechanisms that I'm aware of. I hear drugs and alcohol are good?

Success is preparation and opportunity.

You got the opportunity because of luck (and it is right to remember that), but you were in a position to take advantage because of the work you did to build your talent. Give yourself some credit. Or make yourself a cup of tea, if you don't like self-praise.

Not enough product placement.

It's the penalties that bugged me. We got exactly the same in rushing yards as penalties. If we could have played a clean game then Josh and Emanuel could have sat in an easy-chair with a nice pipe and a newspaper, and Jordan could have thrown the ball more or less at his leisure.

Honestly I read that headline as if they were climate skeptics and had to double-take

But Andy, how will I see another space laser destroy a city I have no investment in without expensive VFX? What, you want those VFX artists to do smaller more intimate works with more emotional depth to them? You want stories that resonate? What about the space lasers?

There are no quick solutions and I sorely wish there were. I don't have any suggestions except to agree with Blake, and to hope that people with smarter heads than mine can implement something. I am so glad I do not work in this area; I don't think I could do what he does and remain sane.

My take: I'm sharing this because it encapsulates the problem so well. The grievance of the "gammons" *is* fair. It *is* wrong that we have to prioritise homeless migrants over domestic struggling but it is the only thing we can do and not be monsters. The problems are decades in the making.

But I'm not king, and all I can really do is express the issue clearly in the hope some MP somewhere can figure out a solution before racism overwhelms the conversation and ignored problems for the bottom rung of society tear everything down in a wave of nationalism like the US.
