I can’t go to the event, but this email gave me a lot to think about.

Excerpt from email from BenDeLaCreme: BEFORE I DO… I’d like to acknowledge that we have not traditionally done cross-promotion on this email list, but as social media giants become increasingly problematic (read: evil) many of us in the community are trying to reduce our marketing on those platforms. Starve the beast, as it were.

So we’re leanin’ in to some good ol’ fashioned word-of-mouth! Our community is the best resource to spread the word about the cool stuff independent queer artists are creating all over the dang place. This is how drag artists ORIGINALLY got the word out, so let’s get back to it.
