Protesters gathering at Grant Park plan to march a 2.5-mile route that will take them past Trump Tower, continuing south to Federal Plaza near the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility on Ida B. Wells Drive, before returning to Grant Park.

The facility has become a de facto detention center, though it was never intended to be one. Protesters, often while trying to block ICE vehicles, have been met with numerous rounds of rubber pellets. A CST reporter saw at least 2 people arrested Friday morning.

Illinois State Police are clearing protesters from the street leading into the Broadview ICE facility on Friday morning in the latest move to prevent demonstrators from blocking vehicles entering and leaving the processing center.
