i took an IQ test as a young child. didn't even recall taking it until my sister found it among old family files a few years ago. i think i remember what i got. if IQs were so useful there'd be contexts in life, ever, even including pissing matches, for me to mention my score. there aren't

i'm not convinced most eugenics fans even take IQ tests. it's not even a flawed model that they take seriously, it's just like how people talk about vibrations or quantum physics to handwave away other pseudosciences

that said i enjoy reading through scores 45 minutes before a gig, really much too late based on my sight-reading level, and realizing immediately that even i can sightread it all no problem

i'm just doubling a sung melody with the right hand, without that this could literally be a one hand score and not a hard one

I also just love this genre of post. "My friend, who absolutely sucks shit, is struggling to find a partner."

This feels like the central toxicity of these dude-gurus: They're feeding men an ideology that immediately casts it as "virtue signaling" whenever anyone states a moral value of any kind. An explicitly nihilistic worldview and a recipe for lifelong misery.
