Yeah same, I really didn't get along with it at all, and ended up just scraping through with the minimum amount of Pagies you need to finish it. This remake feels like what they clearly wanted the game to be, a much more polished and tight game.

On the other hand, Yooka Replaylee is vastly better than the original release so far, clearly the game they wanted it to be back then. Glad this one got another go around.

It's probably the most low-key broken remastered re-release I've played to the point I'm kinda baffled as to why they even bothered. Feels like nobody involved actually liked the original.

It's super janky and broken in almost every way it could be; things not loading in properly, animations not playing, the sound mix is terrible, it looks somehow worse than the original, weird input delays, soundtrack isn't different so much as just flat out missing.

Oh damn I actually loved the Two Towers and Return of the King games. Surprisingly good for licensed games back then. Demon Stone actually got a very light remastered re-release a couple months ago on Steam. Still holds up imo.

I've actually never seen a Tron movie, I've just listened to and loved all the soundtracks, and played a couple video games in the universe, so I couldn't really care less about this either way, but it must suck for the really die-hard Tron fans who are getting this slop only 3 movies in.

Genuinely can't think of another example where a franchise went from beloved to being absolutely vacuous and tanked in such a needless way, with so few entries. You could've just let Tron die in glory. Ah well, at least it's led to a banging soundtrack.

Ash have been having a renaissance over the last couple years as well, which I love as someone who was a huge fan of them back in the day (one of the very few bands I've seen live, even). Kinda awesome to have new music from Ash and The Hives in 2025. And Foxy Shazam, Pulp and Yungblud!

To me they were part of a fairly fleeting movement in indie rock where a lot of bands released one or two really great albums and then kinda disappeared forever. I could name about 20 bands from that era who have like one record I adore but they didn't stick around. The Hives are something else.

I used to like them quite a bit when they released Veni Vidi Vicious, and then loved Tyrannosaurus Hives too but honestly I didn't really expect them to be a band who'd not only stick around for 20 years, but resume dropping incredible records.

It still continues to be wild to me how The Hives went from having a brief mid 2000s run of a few catchy songs then just stuck around quietly, and in 2023 began a big push that's now seen them become one of the greatest bands of the century.
