A huge thank you to Anna McQuinn, bestselling author of the Lulu and Zeki/Lola and Leo books, who will be speaking in her place. Anna joins us on Saturday and will discuss book challenges and bans, and what we can do to resist increasingly divisive narratives that are developing in Ireland.

Yesterday evening, at its 43rd General Assembly held in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Aosdána — the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland — elected nine new members. Children’s Books Ireland is thrilled to learn that among them is Áine Ní Ghlinn, Laureate na nÓg from 2020 to 2023.
