Most of Firefox's revenue comes from their partnership with Google, who is in it so that Chrome isn't considered a monopoly. Of course Google is going to push their slop on their competitor too, because they have the money and get to call the shots in the relationship.

Why is it not opt in instead of opt-out? I opted out of Firefox as soon as I heard the announcement. Waterfox is a fork of Firefox that won't be getting AI, in case anyone wants to keep their browser but not get Gemini.
