This is how a Musselburgh hat starts, which is actually both top down and bottom up. 🙂 The person I'm making this for doesn't like double thickness hats, so I'll stop when it's 10" tall.

Unfortunately my family has very fine, fragile hair and it wasn't in donate condition. 😔

Yep, started last night. My oldest kid cut off a foot of hair this year and all of his beanies are now too big.
