I've also done some recent fanart, read some VERY good books and comics and that ain't bad. Here's to a year filled with hopefully more of those things and better times for everyone.

Screenshots from my WIP Fan mission. This is the interior of the church. There are arches supported by columns, pews and a platform with an altar and some stained glass windows in the background. It's dark in here because not all the lighting has been applied. Another screenshot from my WIP Fan mission. Here's one of the boundaries of the play area. A large archway with a closed wooden gate and very tall towers along the sides with a green/gray brick texture and dramatic lighting. You cannot pass. Here's another screenshot of my WIP fan mission. I really like the lighting here so far. It is the outdoor patio area of a restaurant. There is light coming from the windows and round tables with chairs are set up on the deck.

I've enjoyed playing them for so long, but I've got IDEAS and I want to make some fan missions myself! Right now I'm working on my first one, so here's a few screenshots. This is very much the beginning stage. . .(cont)
A screenshot of the Thief fan mission I'm working on. Very early stages, there are three market carts with striped awnings in the foreground and some unfinished houses in the background. There are pointed rooftops and various stone/wood/window textures, but it's all very unfinished. Another view of my little city in my WIP fan mission. This is a shot from a rooftop as we look down on a more finished-looking building mostly made of wood, with windows and doors. There are other buildings around, mostly with red roofs and brick/stone textures. Here's a screenshot of my WIP fan mission that is a side of a church with some stained glass window textures of a saintly figure holding a staff or a hammer. There is a redbrick building right next to it with metal textures on the structure.

A big thing I'm rather proud of is I decided to buckle down and learn DromEd, the editor for Thief 2. Thief is my favorite game series and there's a whole community of folks who've been making Thief mods (AKA Fan Missions) for many years. . . (cont)

Impending home ownership is, of course, all that most people irl want to talk to me about, but I just want to sink myself into my art. I've been very gradually working on my Frankenstein comic--it's not up anywhere, but here's a page. . .(cont)
Page seven of my work-in-progress comic "Lady Frankenstein." The top panel shows a man and woman in Edwardian clothing inside the entryway of a large academy. A man in the background walks by clutching a briefcase as the first man says "As Administrator of this institute, I find it highly unorthodox to allow a woman to apply for the position, even under the recommendation of your renowned father, Miss Coleridge." The woman looks indignant. She is making an emphatic gesture with her right hand and clutching a book in her left. She says "Have you read my thesis and reviewed my research? I do not ask you to blindly accept my father's opinion, but rather to assemble your own, Dr. Frankenstein." Panel 2 is a closeup of Doctor Frankenstein's face. (Fun fact, he is NOT the main character in this story.) He says "Your persistence is matched only by your poise and decorum, my lady. I will peruse your thesis and make my decision hence." Panel 3 is a closeup of Miss Coleridge smiling & saying "You won't be disappointed, sir!" Panel 3 is a closeup of the two of them shaking hands. There's a box of narrative text (this whole sequence is a flashback and the lady is doing the narrating.) The text says "I was pleasantly surprised to find that Wilhelm Frankenstein would become a subtle but staunch supporter of my work." Last panel is of the same lady in a basement with a large table covered with scientific equipment. She's turning the crank on a large galvanic device that's feeding electricity to a rabbit cadaver on the table. There's a corkboard with many papers and diagrams pinned to it in the background as the narration boxes continue: "Even so, I kept my experiments quite secret. It was sheer providence my being allowed to toil in these halls of men, their tools in my grasp, for the unfortunate truth is they are far more fragile creatures than they will ever admit. I saw no reason to test their temperaments: let them believe my work was relegated to simple research!"
