He attacked the media and claimed that he no longer reads the New York Times because it dared to say that Donald Trump—the most powerful, virile, dynamic man since Liberace—is old and slowing down. Then, when asked about affordability, Bessent made things up. Here’s the exchange: Bessent: [I]n a blue state, affordability is worse than a red state. Ross Sorkin: We can debate that, but keep going— Bessent: No, no, there’s no debate. The number is 50 basis points higher inflation. The ten highest inflation rates are in blue cities. Ross Sorkin: But just so you know, because I went to look at this—this is the Joint Economic Committee—since 2021 the highest inflation of the past four years has been in red states, especially Florida. Bessent: I’m talking about current. Current. Current, not over the past four years. . . . Today. At this point, the audience laughed at the U.S. treasury secretary. I’m not sure people realize how dangerous it is for the SecTreas to be a laughingstock. We’ll talk about why in a minute, but first I want you to consider the future. In May, President Trump will nominate the next chairman of the Federal Reserve. Bessent might get that job. If he does not, the gig could go to Kevin Hassett, who is a political hack like Bessent, only dumber. What happens if Trump breaches the wall between the presidency and the central bank? What happens if the world understands that American fiscal policy is no longer being decided by an apolitical group of serious economists, but dictated by a geriatric conman through his puppet? No one knows. But stay with me, because that’s only the first danger. Let’s pretend that our MAGA Fed chairman manages to get through the rest of Trump’s term without blowing up the economy. What happens if a Democrat wins the White House in 2028? Would this poltroon mismanage the central bank, or attempt to use the Fed to inflict political damage on Democrats? If so, what could Democrats do? Could they remove a blatantly political Fed chair? On what grounds? How would they accomplish that after arguing that Trump should not have been allowed to remove members of the Federal Reserve Board? And that’s how institutional rot happens. Now imagine this process taking place throughout the government. What would a Democratic president do about FBI Director Kash Patel and the senior people he promoted throughout the bureau during his tenure? How about a judiciary stocked with unapologetic partisans like Emil Bove? Or the military? Pete Hegseth has been busily pushing out senior officers who are committed to the Constitution and replacing them with officers considered to be more loyal to Trump. What would a Democratic administration do with a military that has been politicized throughout the senior ranks? These are scenarios we contemplate in Third World countries. Even under the best of circumstances, three years from now we are going to be confronted with them in America. And this is to say nothing about departments like HHS, which have been disfigured by dangerous cranks, and Homeland Security, which have gone completely rogue.

An exhaustive Daily Mail investigation has exposed how Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lowered standards so dramatically that the new cohort now includes everything from recent high school graduates and applicants who can 'barely read or write', to recruits who lack basic physical fitness and even have pending criminal charges. Most of the new hires in the $30 billion initiative are retired law enforcement who are receiving virtual training and being repurposed for desk duty. Meanwhile, total novices are being fast-tracked into the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy in Georgia, where instructors have been left astounded at the levels of incompetence. 'We have people failing open-book tests and we have folks that can barely read or write English,' one Department of Homeland Security official told the Daily Mail.  'We even had a 469-lb man sent to the academy whose own doctor certified him not at all fit for any physical activity.' Insiders say the vetting process has been so rushed that officials didn't even wait for drug test results to come back before hiring recruits and flying them off to Georgia, only to discover afterward that tests came back positive.  In one shocking incident, staff were left shaking their heads when one student asked to be excused from class so he could attend a court date on a gun charge. Records described him as a ‘known problem’ on campus who had just resigned when he demanded the driver give him a ride. 'People are also coming from other law enforcement agencies where they don't have the experience to do detailed immigration work,' the source added. But those older recruits, often returning after years of absence, do serve a greater purpose as far as the leadership is concerned. 'They can come onboard without the training or the check so that we can say that we're getting close to meeting the goal,' the source said. Applicant age is both older and younger than ever before, after ICE decided to widen the range to meet this year's hiring goals. The minimum age has been lowered from 21 to 18 and capped at 65 from 40.

Ok so there’s definitely something extremely incriminating on Trump being covered up. I don’t know any other way to read this. Also seems like a textbook example of why Trump has no business being given a top level security clearance.
