Yep, the big Ark reveal at the end has much more impact because up until then no one in the film experiences supernatural phenomena, so we never know if it’s real until the end when the crap hits the fan. Even Indy downplays it with Marcus early on.

There was more footage of the idol’s moving eyes in the film but they ultimately scrapped the idea, but brief glimpses of it still remain in the movie. There’s lots of behind the scenes clips of them working on it on YouTube and other sites.

It’s true, but most didn’t notice b/c the picture quality on vhs and small tv sets made it hard to see. It was only on big movie screens and later on with hi def, big flat screens that people have noticed it, and even then it’s so fleeting it’s hard to catch. And it’s creepy AF (in the best way).
