Daily Dispatch – COP30, Belém – 10 November 2025

Sweaty, steamy, and full of purpose — #COP30 in Belém begins. Guterres warns 1.5 °C is a “red line for humanity.” Brazil’s new forest-finance plan takes centre stage, while debit-card drama and soaked delegates set the scene

Right now I’m juggling six proposals. We’re blessed with lots of new business opportunities.
So if I look a little dazed on Zoom this week, assume I'm mid-pitch-switch.

Anyone else in proposal season?
How are you keeping your brain in one piece?

I’ve put a lot of work into me.

Each step has pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect.

The more I learn, the more I realise there’s always more to learn.

And that’s the exciting part.

What’s one thing you’re working on right now to better yourself?

For a long time, I thought resilience meant pushing through no matter what.

However, I’ve begun to realise that real resilience is about finding balance.

It’s knowing when to rest as much as when to push.

How do you give yourself permission to recharge?

Leadership isn’t about having all the answers.

I used to think that was the expectation, that people looked to you for certainty, direction, and a clear plan every time.

But the longer I’ve led, the more I’ve learned that honesty, clarity, and openness matter far more.

Do you find personal images get more engagement than your professional content?

And if they do, why do you think that is?
October 13, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Confidence isn’t something that just arrives one day.

For me, it’s been built slowly, through small wins and even smaller steps.

Speaking up in meetings. Sharing a thought. Saying yes to opportunities.

Each time, I grew a little.
What’s one step you’ve taken that’s grown your confidence?

Walks are no longer in t-shirts & shorts.
It’s a quiet reminder that seasons change, whether we’re ready for them or not.

At work, we go through our own seasons, too. Times to push forward & times to regroup.

What season are you in right now, pushing forward or slowing down?

Some messages just land perfectly.

Most of the time, it comes down to three things.
Clarity, consistency and compassion.
When these three align, your message doesn’t just get heard; they stick.

Which matters more to you, what you say or how you make people feel when you say it?

Seren is a big dog.

But… She’s also the biggest softie in the house.
She startles easily.

A sneeze?
She’ll trot into the room to check you’re okay.
But the thing that really sets her off… Is the coffee machine.

Do your furry friends have quirks?

I haven’t been this size since early 2017.

That’s over eight years of avoiding certain shops, hiding in stretch fabrics and quietly pretending that comfort mattered more than confidence.

A moment where you look in the mirror and go, "This fits"

Keep going. The small surprises are worth it.

It was that time of year again, the six-week holiday slowdown.
This time of year can be a chance to:

🤔 Review what’s working
🤔 Plan what’s next
🤔 Recharge a little, if you can.

How do you use the summer slowdown to your advantage?
August 29, 2025 at 7:01 PM
UK schools still shut for 6+ weeks each #summer, a tradition from farming days when children helped with harvests.

Today, it leaves parents juggling work, childcare & costs.

Is it time to rethink the #school calendar for modern life - balancing rest, learning & #family needs?

Work’s been relentless lately. Proposals, pitches, pressure, the usual.

If you're stuck, staring at a screen, get outside. Move. Let a dog drag you through your next breakthrough like they do me. 😂

There's something magical about living near the #sea! 🌊

I'm blessed to be surrounded by three beautiful #beaches, each offering its own tranquillity. 🏖️

It's amazing how the sound of crashing #waves and the salty breeze can make day-to-day worries just... melt away.

Work’s been relentless lately. Proposals, pitches, pressure, the usual.

When your calendar’s full and your brain’s overloaded, the last thing you feel like doing is stepping away from your desk.

But then the dogs start pacing.

You remember…
You don’t have a choice 😂

Chris. Not Nial.

Not Christopher (unless I’m in Ireland).

Definitely not “C. Nial”, which invites some unfortunate nicknames if you squint. 😂

It’s a strange thing, names.

How do you feel about nicknames, mispronunciations or unexpected new ones at work?

2024: as per immunisation data from WHO & UNICEF, 115 million infants received at least 1 dose of the DTP vaccine - 109 million completing the series.

But, nearly 20 million doses were missed, and among them, 14.3 million infants were classified as "zero-dose", surpassing the target by 4 million.

My Berlin keynote flopped.

Last-minute topic change.

Rushed prep, nothing landed.

But the next day, moderating panels, I clicked. I connected with speakers, asked questions they loved.

Lesson: you don’t have to be the star, sometimes your power is helping others shine. #berlin #health #ai

For 3+ years, FINN Partners has supported the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in its mission to cure spinal cord injuries and improve lives.

Renee Martin noted: The NPRC has been a lifeline for millions with paralysis, stroke, ALS, or MS for 20+ years & now faces the threat of funding cuts.
