A book for our times, unfortunately. Read this years ago and I’ve just read it again, although its content had always stayed with me. Because it’s chilling. And it feels too close for comfort.

It’s a very short and accessible epistolary novel.

These children-killing strikes seem to be acceptable to people. I don’t know what else to say about it.

It’s the ‘but’ and the hierarchy of love that reveals everything.
Asked if shes worried the govt will be held responsible for whats happening in Gaza (because they continue exporting arms to Israel) Phillipson says shes incredibly concerned about the situation there. If that was true you'd stop exporting arms to Israel. But you wont. So it isnt

Such an important reminder from @davidgurteen.bsky.social. When we prioritise connection before content, we create the trust and openness needed for real collaboration. It’s easy to jump straight to tasks, but without strong relationships, the work suffers.
Work improves when relationships come first. Prioritizing tasks over connection makes collaboration harder. Building trust and engagement through connection before content creates openness and ensures meaningful work can happen. #ConversationalLeadership #km #kmers #connection

Witnessing Labour trying to mimic Reform with migrant raid videos is sickening & will simply reinforce Reform’s messages. Just months after race riots, it also risks encouraging further animosity. We need safe & legal routes for asylum seekers, not boasts about which party can be cruellest

👏🏻 Bike reuse -refurbishing bicycles for a long life - could be so much easier with standard components.
Affordable access to bikes changes lives.
Let’s make it easier.
We don’t talk enough about the importance of standard components in a greener economy. Engineers always say “but *our* design for battery/connector/module is 2% better than a standard one”, missing the point that it’s far worse for repair, reuse, recycling & minimising extra “stuff”. It’s maddening.
It’s time for THE charger.

Today, the USB-C becomes officially the common standard for charging new mobile electronic devices in the EU.

It means better-charging technology, reduced e-waste, and less fuss to find the chargers you need!

This was an interesting watch for lots of reasons, not least how to work towards increasing the involvement of people with lived experience of trauma in the running of an organisation.
We recently spoke with The Welcoming, a Scottish charity dedicated to supporting asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, about how funders can best support their work and what changes they would like to see over the next five years.
