For no particular reason….posting former U.S. Attorney General John Mitchell’s mugshot before he went to Federal prison for committing numerous crimes on behalf and or/at the direction of President Nixon including obstruction of justice and conspiracy.

Lots of noise about Democrats struggling to find a message. Try this, “I’m for America having a strong and growing middle class.” Suddenly taxing the rich, housing/zoning policy, living wages, public education, and anti-corruption efforts sound positive and coherent, not giveaways to the “lazy.”

Donald Trump deleted this from the government website.

Let's be clear: there's funding available to cover SNAP benefits next month. Trump is stopping SNAP benefits because he wants to. He is forcing mommas and babies to go hungry.

Trump’s construction of the Epstein Ballroom continues today. Can only imagine he’ll be renting it out for many junior proms.

With so many Supreme Court emergency/shadow docket results favoring Trump’s lawlessness, I’m hoping the SCOTUS is putting their thumb on the scale to aid in a one-time rightward lurch more than hinting at full unitary executive authority findings to come.

I hadn’t considered until today that one indirect benefit of people participating in a no-kings event is having a separate reference point for scale. In particular I’m thinking about how crowd sizes may make election cheating harder to pull off by making dissatisfaction obvious.

If I were a DC reporter, I’d consider maybe pressing Johnson on how he reconciles these two statements.

"there are fires all over the place"
~the president of the united states with absolutely zero clue what is going on
Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

So when grand juries indict Trump, that is Biden “weaponizing the justice system” despite the fact that he said nothing about it. When Trump demands an indictment & appoints his personal lawyer to get it after his first MAGA appointee refused, that is “how our system works.” bsky.app/profile/atru...
TAPPER: As a constitutional attorney & Speaker, do you think it's acceptable for any POTUS to publicly instruct their AG to prosecute their political opponent and go as far as firing a US attorney if they don't bring charges?

JOHNSON: A grand jury voted to indict Comey. That's how our system works

Traditional wisdom: Follow the money.

Wisdom in the age of Trump II: Follow the deregulation and firings to the corruption being enabled or protected- then follow that to the money and beyond.

Referring to Epstein as the “guy who never dies” has the energy of a frustrated horror movie villain who just murdered someone- and they keep going.

The public health docs and epidemiologists I worked with and around were some of the smartest and most ethically-driven people I’ve ever known. The undermining of vaccines, public health, and scientific progress will not reflect well on us in the future.
I’m a physician who has looked at hundreds of studies of vaccine safety, and here’s some of what RFK Jr. gets wrong
The health secretary has made many inaccurate statements about vaccines. But the science is clear that vaccines have dramatically reduced childhood illness, disability and death.

To add to this, Walmart's net profit margin was 2.39% last year.
For context Walmart sells goods at ~25% above their cost (their "gross margin," so before accounting for utilities, rent, most labor, etc)
That margin is not fat enough to absorb "only" a 30% tariff. Some of the tariff costs have to get passed on to consumers
