Volunteered at Mitchel Houses today to support neighbors who have been impacted by the partial building collapse this past week. So thankful no one was harmed. We’ve got to organize to address the chronic disinvestment in public housing in the Bronx and across the city.

Revoking an entire nationality’s visas is collective punishment and never acceptable — especially in this moment when millions of Palestinians lack equal rights, basic healthcare, and so much more at home, forcing them out of the US is unfathomably cruel.

U.S. Suspends Visas for Palestinian Passport Holders, Officials Say
The move will stop, at least temporarily, travel for medical treatment, attending university, visiting relatives or conducting business.

American tax dollars should be striving to fully fund our communities, instead our money is enabling genocide abroad. We should be funding the Bronx, not genocide
July 28, 2025 at 2:46 PM
The Bronx needs a huge increased scaling of literacy, political and civic education instruction/resources. We’ve got to stay the course with evidence-based reading reforms in our schools and address the affordability crisis that often underlines reading difficulties.

Unfortunately, most Bronx elected officials bankroll their campaigns with and corporate PAC and lobbyist donations, rendering them completely unhelpful in dire times like these. They rely on Bronx residents not being aware of how campaign finance works and who it really benefits.

Many of my students see crisis in the Bronx, crisis around the world, and might not be sure what they can do to make a difference. We need more BX elected officials who believe in the power of young people and can provide them with direction to organize in their own communities.
July 26, 2025 at 5:23 PM
The Bronx doesn’t want to be represented by elected officials funded by corporate donors in groups like AIPAC, complicit in genocide. We need to fund the Bronx, not war.
July 26, 2025 at 5:23 PM
We need more elected officials in the Bronx that won’t take a dime of corporate PAC money. That alone would be transformational for our borough.

It’s a month since the administration detained and disappeared a green card holder, a lawful permanent resident.

We cannot allow this to be normalized or forgotten.

AOC, @aoc.bsky.social, making the case for free speech alongside universal healthcare is so KEY for the left, because it's time progressives reclaimed the mantle of fighting for free speech from the faux free speech warriors of the right.
AOC: I want to live in an America that guarantees healthcare to every person.

I want to live in an America that has a living wage for every person

I want to live in an America where you have free speech to express yourself and not be afraid of being put on a list or deported.

The Kirschners lost their home in the Eaton fire. Max, 10, + Alex, 6, both saw their school burn down, too.

The boys are temporarily going to a care camp set up at the LA Arboretum.

Alex asked his dad "if a single toy" survived. He said he'd keep it if it did.
