I think the Democratic Party should be led by people who think the Republican Party is bad. Try it for a bit and see what happens, you know? Just to mix things up a little.
A lot of delusion happening in that Schumer NYT interview, but this gets to the heart of it: he believes his Republican colleagues will come around and everything will be ok. Absolutely delusional.

It’s amazing to find out at this late date how much the rule of law depended on people simply deciding, on a voluntary, daily basis, not to break the law.

The current state of things has done wonders for my TBR pile I will admit. Dissociating into books has been a helpful way to deal. Now if I can figure out how to knit while reading I might kick doomscrolling for good.
