Need genomic, serological surveillance strategy to: (i) incorporate samples from mammals, birds and people, including milk & wastewater; (ii) ID source of outbreak; and (iii) monitor spread, trajectory, and evolution of the virus, and its pandemic potential. #H5N1

Although an infodemic is mischaracterised (conflated with misinformation, ignoring its other attributes such as info volume, velocity, voids), this is a helpful read. More research needed into how information ecosystems can shape our decision-making matrix.

While research into the information ecosystem is vital to boost its functionality, there’s still a gap between info exposure and decision-making. We need more studies on how the info environment’s shaping values and beliefs driving decisions and rationalisations that may or may not hinge on facts
