A story in two acts. For the record, last year I paid $329.74 (admittedly as part of a Black Friday sale).

With Sophia out here recruiting via text for WB (who it seems are now based out of Indonesia?), I think it’s safe to say, the film industry is on it’s way back up guys.

🚨 LOW TICKET ALERT 🚨 U.S. Premiere of THE FURIOUS (2025) + Q&A Beyond Fest 2025 💥

Directed by fight-choreography master Kenji Tanigaki, THE FURIOUS is a heart-pounding action thriller that strips martial arts of glamour + embeds it in visceral reality.

Technicolor/The Mill's creditors are auctioning off literally everything from their Culver offices, and really hoping this original Technicolor 35mm 3 Strip camera finds a good home. cagp.com/lot-details/...

Do we think that final freeze and push-in from the S2 finale of Severance last night was done optically when they printed the 35mm film-out, or created digitally and then filmed out from the online edit with freeze and zoom baked in?

Had to open Aspera to send off some VFX shots for a short, and clearly it's been a minute

Big post-Oscar shake in NoHo. No warning from the MyShake app either.

With Kennedy stepping down from the helm of Lucasfilm after 13 years, only one successor has both the business acumen and the insider knowledge of the franchise to successfully navigate the next phase of the property.

Plus mind tricks don’t work on him.

My feature film editorial hot take: No one who knows anything about Post should think that The Brutalist Respeecher "controversy" is awards disqualifying. We steal consonants & vowels from different reads all the time. 2 mins of augmented Hungarian does not invalidate the rest of the performance.

I’ve been buried in dailies all month, so it’s been pretty thin on the movie-viewing front, but of these 5 first time watches, Conclave was my favorite top to bottom.

In PDX visiting my in-laws and our tiny Southern California dachshund does not know what to do with this chilly weather and only 9 hours of daylight. He keeps waking up early, sees that it’s still dark, and reburies himself under the heated blanket.

I just went from walking out my front door and getting in a rideshare to sitting down at my departure gate in 22 mins the night before Thanksgiving.

Anyone played with Resolve's Speed Editor peripheral? I'm gonna buy a Studio license before the end of the year, and I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $75 for the speed editor as well, or if it's another piece of gear that will sit in my closet, until I inevitably give it away a decade from now.

It tickles me whenever I can get one of my more "eclectic" choices of temp cue to play well in a scene. Managed to work something from Beyond the Black Rainbow into the temp for my current project, and at least for tonight, it gets to live in the cut.
