Still can’t believe this needs to be said but…there are sound public health reasons for legally requiring milk to be pasteurized and they are the same reasons for legally requiring pets to get rabies shots.
And Louis Fucking Pasteur invented BOTH pasteurization (1862) and the rabies vaccine (1882).

TIL that one reason raw milk is having a comeback is a lot of people don't know what pasteurization is. They think it's adding "chemicals" not a rapid heat treatment
