Gotta admit, though, the fierce Russian determination to never learn a goddamn thing has a quality all its own.

I only watched the first season. The rest of it I've had on in the background while doing other things, occasionally glancing at it when something interesting might be happening. Dunno who's who or what's going on, and don't care. Feels like it was made to be watched like this.

My understanding is the tea party happened because the crown slashed the tax on tea, which ruined the tea smuggling business, of which John Hancock was a big player. Kinda spoils the patriotic narrative if it's just gangsters doing gangster shit, but hey, same as it ever was.

No worries, the neighbors absolutely took notice.

What I don't understand is, why would Cuomo subject himself to this instead of just quietly retiring somewhere warm? Is it a public humiliation fetish or something?

It's grim, but a very good film, worth a watch.

Oh, you meant the horror thing.

/2 Trump appeals to people for a reason: because they’re shitty people with shitty values from a shitty culture. When he’s a nasty, bullying, bigoted thug that appeals to them because those are their values. I’m not going to try to be more thuggy or bigoted or bullying to find common ground.

Maybe the Firefox version is totally different, though, since it's not built into yes, the chrome.

Firefox added this already. There's a "ChatGPT" button now, available from any web page, or something. I'm thinking about pressing it someday to see what it does.

Thomas Chatterton Williams lives in France but sometimes in NYC and has valuable insights to bestow upon the hoi polloi, and also enjoys skiing.

Of course "Thomas Chatterton Williams" is an Atlantic staff writer who lives in France but sometimes in NYC, and he has valuable insights he wishes to bestow on the hoi polloi. Of course.

No worries. A world war would require other countries to join the conflict. No other country is going to try to save the Iranian government. The Iranian people hate their government. Their military is a shambles. Their government will collapse in some way and there won't be a "WWIII" about it.
