There's no point in reminding Daniel Smith or Scott Moe of actual facts. They both believe that climate science is a hoax and they will take that embrace to their graves. As Forest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does", and they are happy take AB & SK down a path of destruction.

People don't like change. So, they reject change without any rational reason except that "they don't like change". This is why governments have to provide incentives to consumers and deadlines to industry. It's very sad that governments have decided to reject climate science.

Trump's threat means that Canada (and NATO) may end up at war with the USA.

They were hired & trained to behave this way. Hitler had Brown Shirts, Trump has ICE.

Agreed. Linus used it for his hobby, and I used it for mine.

The downside it that you can no longer take maple sugar in your carry-on bag. We flew out of YOW in November -- where they have these new machines -- and CATSA confiscated our block of maple sugar because the machine thinks its explosives. I wish I was making this up.

I would love for Canada to complete its transition to the metric system. I lived in Australia for a couple of years -- they are 100% metric -- and it was frustrating returning to Canada's half-completed transition.

In Canada, a 2x4 stud is actually 38x90mm. The equivalent stud in Australia is 35x90. It's not immediately obvious to me why a 3mm change in size will drive a lot of cost to lumber mills.

Exactly! In addition, it takes effort to change one's habits to move decarbonisation forward; i.e., it takes "change"... people don't like change, and so they find a million reasons why they don't need to change.

Note, they were not "designed to reduce severity"; rather, coronaviruses are such that the vaccine doesn't prevent infection.

The research: bellsystempractices.org/Miscellaneou...

IMHO, it wasn't Bell Labs (AT&T) that made the mistake because their research and subsequent telephone pre-dated the sale of calculators as we know them today. Key layouts for older mechanical calculators varied by manufacturer.
