Why aren't you condemning Trump's illegal actions!!
The reports of violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation tactics by the Iranian regime against its own people are profoundly concerning. Canada strongly condemns the killing of protesters, and urges Iran to allow for freedom of expression and peaceful assembly without fear of reprisal.

It's official.
Canada is next to a dictatorship with no respect for international law, human rights, borders, or its own checks and balances.
The US dictator said in no uncertain terms that he plans to invade a sovereign, peaceful, democratic nation
We're next on his list.

Trump's words were spoken like a true sociopath
NYT: “Asked in a wide-ranging interview if there were any limits on his global powers, Mr. Trump said: ‘Yeah, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. It’s the only thing that can stop me.’”

If you’re not alarmed yet you’re not paying attention. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/08/u...

Let's start taking security more seriously by sanctioning the Trump regime for their illegal actions around the world (kidnapping, killing, telling lies about other countries, etc.).

Another addition to SK's climate science denial playbook is SaskPower's plan to refurbish its coal plants instead of decommissioning them as had been planned.

An astute analysis of Canada's relationship with the USA.
New from me: Trump's invasion of Venezuela and threats against Greenland are forcing a reckoning for the international community. For Canada, it forces us to ask the question: Are Mark Carney's "Canada Strong" policies actually up to the task of protecting Canadian independence?
Canada’s economic Maginot Line
The US invasion of Venezuela and threats against Greenland are forcing world leaders to get real about the US threat to the international order. Here in Canada, it's highlighting how Mark Carney's Canada Strong policies aren't up to the task of protecting Canadian sovereignty.

I have heard of electric mining trucks that never need charging because they carry heavy loads downhill and then go back up light.

But now they are doing it with a 685 mile train journey. Amazing.
Fortescue Infinity Train gets 14.5 MWh battery that never needs charging [update]
Fortescue Infinity Train made its first 685 mile trip from Perth to the Pilbara, marking a major milestone in decarbonization.

We saw a couple of snowy owls on the grid-road that runs south from Tuxford, SK, today. This one flew away when we tried to get closer for a better photo. The other was in-flight.

A small plea for you all to eradicate "preventative" from your writing and speech as a 2026 new year's resolution. It's "preventive", people. There is no verb to "preventate". See simonchapman6.com/2024/01/22/d...

An open letter to ABC Pronounce I write to draw attention to the pernicious creep of “preventative” instead of “preventive” in what the ABC broadcasts. Your pronunciation standards guide, ABC Prono…

In our village (pop. 7,000) near Utrecht, the Netherlands, you can't get gasoline or diesel anymore; the last fuel station closed years ago. But for EV drivers, there's around 45 public charging posts, and a bunch of Tesla fast-chargers at the edge of the village, near the highway.

Labour strikes aren’t new!

The first recorded strike in history took place in Egypt some 3,200 years ago!

McKibben’s point is directionally right, even if simplified. Fossil fuels dominate global shipping ton-miles. Electrification + renewables don’t just cut CO₂ — they collapse fuel logistics chains. Energy becomes local. Trade shifts, ships don’t vanish — but power does.⚡ #disruption #EnergyTransition
