I’m endlessly bemused by Labour. They came in with a vast majority and could have done anything, instead they promptly went native and did absolutely nothing. It’s as though they didn’t spend all those years in opposition planning….

Not really news to anyone paying attention beyond the political grandstanding over ‘nationalisation’ and never covered rolling stock. On the other hand, the baseline leasing cost quoted was for worn out 50 year old rolling stock - what did customers expect in return for all those shiny new trains?

Sunak’s ‘back of a fag packet’ cancellation of parts of HS2 was grossly negligent, and HS2 trains don’t tilt (they don’t need to on high speed track!) hence can only run at 100mph on legacy network. No part of this was in any way a surprise to anyone outside the bubble.

We were never getting decent terms, this is a highly political move by France (and to a lesser degree Germany) to block out a competitor and get one back for AUKUS. Zut alors!

Hmm, all those ‘ABBA’ types at the MOD keeping a low profile? A genuine scandal, but you just know those who made the bad decisions will have cushy directorships lined up. A senior manager involved has been on LinkedIn abusing the users. @ukdefjournal on X for SFW version🙄

I do love ‘Smart’ meters, had several replacements and they never have worked properly. At least they are free…..oh, wait!!! 😡
