I recently presented a part of my MA thesis at the NCRC 2024, exploring how Rodrigo Duterte employed three types of securitization rhetoric to frame the pandemic. I also argued that securitization is inherently hegemonic, reflecting traditional masculine ideals in Duterte's crisis management.
