The art is very effective for the ominous atmosphere it's going for, but narratively it just wasn't really for me. The buildup is slow and I don't think the writing or characters are its main appeal even as it picks up

The educational aspects about art preservation are really interesting, but I'm a bit mixed about the romance. Some of the drama feels a bit too rushed and half baked to feel warranted, though the leads' dynamic is still enjoyable otherwise

Black Water arc is pretty depressing, the big twist is kinda crazy and I feel so bad for Wind Master. Steadily mounting ominous vibes until everything explodes and it becomes clear how bleak things are

Not an essential addition to the series but still a fun read, pretty much just a side story with a little more of the gambling mindgame thrills. Definitely worth for anyone who wants more Usogui

Not as strong as volume 2 imo but still good! Xie Lian flashback arc was interesting and it's insightful seeing the idealistic youth he was long before the present in the story

Scratches a similar itch to what Geass did for me, very efficient and well paced and focused for the first cour. I especially appreciated its commentary on even well-intentioned privilege, very good watch

Everything I wanted out of a CSM anime and an incredible adaptation of the Bomb Girl arc. Reminded me of all the reasons I loved Reze and her dynamic with Denji in the manga with fantastic directing and a clear love for the source

Cute and heartwarming watch, S2 is probably my fave part of the series still but I've always liked the anime's found family aspect and I think it delivers on that and Kanna pretty well!

Even worse than the DS game, very little player interaction and it always felt pretty low effort but in-game features breaking later on, a repetitive loop of events, and promised collabs never happening make it an absolute waste

Massive step up from volume 1, Xie Lian is a fantastic MC and the Gilded Banquet lore hurts so bad. The Xie Lian/Qianqiu dynamic is so tragic and this arc definitely stuck with me

Chilling theater rewatch that remains fascinating both as a thriller and commentary on idol/showbiz culture. It's neat seeing the foreshadowing cues on a rewatch and I think a lot about the tragedy around the culprit and how that ties into the main story

Good portrayal of grief and regret but a bit too short for the characters to leave a strong impression on me, definitely worth reading though!

Enjoyable followup to School-Live that gives a bit more closure. I forgot a decent amount since I read the main manga a while ago, but it was still nice to see the characters again and get just a bit more of this series

Some implications closer to the end I'm ambivalent about but otherwise I really like the introspection on life and regrets, pretty quick but very emotional and thoughtful read

Pretty heartfelt read, I just read part 1 so definitely still the early stages but I'm interested in reading more and seeing what else happens with the characters!

Well it definitely is exactly what it says on the tin 😭

It's an okay start to the series but definitely on the slower end, didn't leave a huge impression on me on its own

Heartfelt story of a group of boys bonding through their mutual struggle and plight despite knowing only one can make it. I'm still ambivalent about the ending, but the journey really speaks to the bleak competitiveness of society

Incredibly fun theater rewatch, I love the story's exploration of legacy and the way the song motifs continuously build upon and recontextualize each other. Gave me a lot to chew on with the political landscape being what it is now

Was an okay watch but I wasn't as interested in the BNW stuff as the main story and cast

Had a lot of fun with S1 despite people often considering it the weak link. Good vibes, fun group dynamic, and I really enjoy Spe and Suzuka. Pleasant start for the anime

Some interesting psychology insight but is really dragged down by its comedy and its insistence on its fanservice gags. Episode 2 especially I think is pretty bad

Slow start but evolves into a pretty engrossing and bittersweet read. The pre-main story lore was very depressing and I'm happy for how the leads ended up despite everything

Main story finale was very good, side story chapters ranged from okay to kinda questionable smut I didn't care for

Gameplay loop can get grindy if you're optimizing for CM or otherwise run out of things to do, but it's otherwise pretty fun! Uma career stories are generally enjoyable and the endearing characters and their compelling writing are a highlight
