If you can't see how this will end, then you're not paying attention (not least to what's going on on the other side of the Atlantic).

A reminder that much of the strong borders / anti immigration stuff that is becoming normalised in the media resembles / is a product of/ fascist ideas of national purity.

Wait: so the President of the United States shared a video of a fake news report, rooted in a conspiracy theory, that features an AI-generated version of himself promoting a policy that…doesn’t exist?

Trump tonight appears to have pushed the false "medbed" conspiracy theory, which has spread in the far-right internet over the years. www.yahoo.com/news/qanon-c...

Amusing humour, under which we can hear the horror in @aiannucci.bsky.social and Lee's voices as they witness / experience the developing catastrophe... or perhaps I'm just projecting

"industrialised infrastructure of grievance" is a good line. I expect Starmer would like to combat it. I wonder if he's able to?

Starmer acknowledges far-right lies: "communities are portrayed in a way that is a million miles from reality,” he added. “A sort of industrialised infrastructure of grievance. An entire world, not just a worldview, created through our devices that is miserable, joyless and demonstrably untrue.”

In the panel discussion, Carney noted that in some countries there has been no growth in real wages for 15 years, saying: “The last time that happened was the middle of the 19th century – Karl Marx was writing the Communist Manifesto.” www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

BTW: I'm a fan of specifically one thing with Wet Leg, and it's the Tiny Desk Concert they did. Not dissing anything else, but they nailed it in that moment, in both the sound and looking like odd people who've developed this in a shed to please themselves. I don't need to investigate further.
