Invented a game in the pub. Charcardes, Charades with playing cards. You have to mime the card you pick up. But with no mime repeats. So yeah fine you can hold up three fingers once, for three, but no one can again. Gets tough/funny a few cards in when you're looking for the 7th way to signal Clubs.

With Twitter going fash I decide my response to all was to try and publish *everywhere*, rather than retreat. So now it's on Mastodon, Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky, Threads and shitter. And there are more planned - probably won't bother with TruthSocial but if I was the Guardian I would.

I suspect at the heart of this is going to be some 20 y/o kid who has never booked a tour before, or even organised two mates away on a camping trip, and just said yes to every venue's first suggested date.

You need to have a vastly lower stakes and less successful touring career like me, where I do about one a month, and I look forward to them as a little trip away from home, and get to eat fantastic Premier Inn breakfasts, which would kill me if they were every day.

It was a generally point that carrying a small amount of cash is useful. I needed a quid to have a piss the other day in some market town. Is your helpful advice to always carry catheter with you?
