Watched Wes Craven's CURSED tonight and...woof. This seems like a case of major studio interference, but that Craven/Williamson magic is nowhere to be found here.

Katie Porter seems like a deeply unpleasant person.

Someone who used to work with Katie Porter sent me this clip from a train wreck interview with her and said “now imagine what she’s like when there aren’t cameras around.”

I watched Hou Hsiao-hsien's THREE TIMES for the first time this week and was just blown away by its delicate beauty. The way he captures the romantic electricity of simply holding hands is just breathtaking.

Review | ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER - "Captures the almost numbing banality of living in a world where our freedoms are slowly being eroded, where the world seems to be falling apart and putting it together often feels like a Sisyphean task."
One Battle After Another | 2025 — From the Front Row
The image of a bedraggled Leonardo DiCaprio running around in a bathrobe during what could be the worst week of his life might call to mind the image of Jeff Bridges' unflappable Dude having a similar...

I'm getting too liberal with my use of the word "tr*nny." Can't let the cis folks think that one's ok now.

Facebook is just a wasteland of AI slop now.

I just watched SHUTTER and it's wild that this is a remake of a Thai film because they just set in Japan anyway.
cinemattie.bsky.social
The glut of early 2000s Japanese horror remakes made it look like Americans couldn't conceive of a more terrifying place than Japan.

It almost feels like a plus model. Not sure how I feel about it yet. But my iPhone 15 was probably my least favorite iPhone yet (I liked the overall design though), so I'm hoping this one turns out better overall.
cinemattie.bsky.social
Upgraded my iPhone 15 pro for an iPhone 17 pro and my god this thing is a brick. It feels so much bigger and heavier than my old phone.

So what you're saying is...the facts don't matter and it's all about appearances?

"From a crime perspective, I understand that crime is down but the perception from the public is that it's not, obviously they're the ones we have to listen to," answered Redford.
Redford's push for the National Guard comes after the Aug. 22 stabbing of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte's light rail gained international attention, but Redford says he has met with police and city leadership about the staffing issues at CMPD for quite a while and he says they haven't done enough.

The concept of there being any sort of organized left wing anything in this country. The American left can barely organize a potluck without breaking into factions.

Can Miller really believe this? If so, he is delusional. If not, then he’s a reprehensible demagogue.

Endlessly tickled by Sean Penn strutting around like he had a jumbo-sized butt plug in his ass in ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER.

Also shout out to the guy who stormed out as soon as the credits started and announced "BORING! Waste of time!" Ok dude.

Shout out to the couple who sat in my seats at ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER then walked out 30 mins in.

Wild to be holding up the whole line at the theater trying to buy tickets to a movie that started 45 mins ago.

I don't care about Harry Potter anymore these days for obvious reasons, but I always thought Patricia Routledge would have made a perfect Dolores Umbridge.

Hyacinth was a brilliant comedic creation that made her an icon. Each episode followed the same formula - but it always worked so well thanks o her. I'm going to pour a cup of tea in her honor tonight. I'll even bring out the Royal Doulton with the hand painted periwinkles.

Some of my favorite childhood memories are watching "Keeping Up Appearances" on PBS with my grandpa. It's still one of my very favorite TV shows. I know she wishes she were remembered for something else, but her Hyacinth Bucket is one of the great television characters.
