Ha, I may need one, because my second word doesn't give me much hope that my attempts to improve things will be successful. 😳

So sad to read the news that the monumental Vondelkerk in Amsterdam (built in 1872) has burnt down. Possibly caused by fireworks, but not certain yet.
Such a beautiful building ... a huge cultural loss.

Happy New Year, everyone. Wishing for all of you that the world will become a more peaceful, tolerant, healthy, friendly and happy place in 2026!

LOL, the Breeze is playing a pre-recorded programme for Saturday. Or they're just very confused. 🤔

Hawke's Bay followers, can you please advise me on the best garden centre in the Hastings area?

Weird. It never "flipped" for me.

Hey nature lovers in Aotearoa NZ, there's a new episode of Endangered species Aotearoa on TV1, tonight! It starts at 7.30pm. Highly recommend!

I visited Tiritiri Matangi Island, about 17 years ago. It was awesome. I'd love to go back one day.

I tried photographing birds, but if you have limited time, photographing birds is difficult. Basically, only the kererū sit still long enough. I was lucky with some other birds. 😅

Far from the perfect photo, but I love how the rain drops enlarge the veins (or nerves) of this leaf.

I decided not to replace my landline with VOIP. I now use my home phones on my mobile network with one of these. Not as good as a landline (there's a lag & audio isn't great), but still handy, because I don't have to carry my mobile around the house to be able to hear it ring.

Pretty black & white moth on my wall. A quick search online tells me it's a North Island Lichen moth.

Two months ago, the cheapest 1kg cheese block I could find was Pam's Edam cheese at P'nS for $8.99. Then they increased the price to $9.99, then $10.29, and now it's $11.29. A $2.30 increase in about 2 -3 months time! Back in line with other supermarkets. I'm getting desperate about food prices!

Picture showing the flight path of the Hercules. It flew over Wellington harbour, in via the East (people in Eastbourne must have had a great view) to Petone and then back via the CBD side of the Harbour.

Interesting movements thereafter after crossing Cook Strait.

Still waiting for the T20 Black Clash teams playing a game of Black Clash sevens or tens rugby! Why hasn't it happened yet after all these years?

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

Happy New Year! Good luck for 2025 (I think we'll need it)!

Thanks, I'll check whether Scheckter's Deli in Johnsonville has it. Hopefully they also sell Reines-Claudes Jelly (similar to Quince, but greener). Not South African, but they have a lot of international products.

I am expecting a parcel from Australia and the last tracking info is that it landed in NZ last Friday morning.

I assume this text is a scam?

The +212 number suggests the text comes from Morocco, but maybe scammers can fake that too (I don't know).

My neighbour often volunteers at the community garden in our Wellington suburb and this happens really often. Unfortunately, it's not always about the food or only about the food. They don't just steal; they destroy things, too (see photo).
