Think I'm going to stay offline for a bit. The news is so depressing and I want to sleep tonight.

Going to listen to some music instead.

Looking forward to watching Tootsie on Sky Open, tonight. I remember liking this movie when it was just released. Obviously it's been a while, so hopefully it won't disappoint.

I wonder how long it will take until affected patients get to hear their data have been stolen? I haven't received a single email, yet, not even a general message about this cyber attack.

So sad to read the news that the monumental Vondelkerk in Amsterdam (built in 1872) has burnt down. Possibly caused by fireworks, but not certain yet.
Such a beautiful building ... a huge cultural loss.

Very trumpist. This corrupt government needs to go!

Yikes. When I decided to move to NZ - and not Australia - one of the reasons was that NZ doesn't have creepy animals, spiders and insects. I seriously hope that doesn't change! 😱
📢 The invasive noble false widow spider was first spotted in Porirua last year with further sightings in Christchurch, Nelson, Waikato and Northland.

I'd prefer it if they keep their "US tech ecosystem" in the US and don't bring those people here, especially if more of them want to stay or buy property here.

LOL, the Breeze is playing a pre-recorded programme for Saturday. Or they're just very confused. 🤔

Some people should lose their driver's licence permanently. There's no excuse for road rage like this.
📢 Rachel tooted at a driver who cut her off at a Te Puke roundabout. He then allegedly pursued and repeatedly rammed her car as her children sat in the back.

When you go to bed early because you're exhausted after a hectic day at work; that totally messes with your circadian rhythm and you're wide awake again at 11.30pm. Errrrr

Still too many idiots in Dutch politics. Being in a country without the proper paperwork should never be a criminal offence.

I hope the Senate rejects it (and that other bill as well).

I hate how the media are just publishing what the government tells them, instead of critically investigating & publishing what the real situation is.

If consumer confidence is really up (is it though?), that may be because of the false narrative that the govt is presenting and media are parroting.
The economy is flatlining, and claims of 2025 being the year of growth aren't being realised. Growth is in unemployment, & numbers of New Zealanders leaving the country. September per capita GDP has fallen for 2 years - $1,593 worse than it was at the start of this government

I've already seen ads for boxing day sales starting this weekend. How idiotic is that?

Not actively providing for prayer rooms or paying for religious schools is okay, but prohibiting pple from wearing religious symbols or restricting religious gatherings in public are serious limitations on the right to freedom of (religious) expression & freedom of religion that are hard to justify.

Are there any tech savvy people on here that can answer my - probably stupid - question?

I love my old Samsung S3370 phone. It's a small, reasonably dumb 3G phone and it has a proper stereo FM radio (no need to use apps)! Now, they're going to switch off 3G soon, will that radio still work?

Encountered one of those monsters near my house last year. I screamed internally. If that scream had resulted in a sound, I think they could have heard it at the other side of Cook Strait. Way. too. BIG!

Yeah, nah. The small business I work for is still struggling due to the cost of living crisis; my wages still too low, can't work more hours; still struggling to pay the bills; still at risk of losing my house; insurance premiums still too high.

The current government is still incompetent & racist.
