Throughout the 70s + 80s, the Florida Keys had what was known as 'square grouper' wash ashore.
The boats we've been given images of weren't capable of navigating the waters from Venezuela to the mainland US, but the wreckage -and bodies- will likely wash up in any of a half dozen countries.

American media routinely give 'off the coast of Venezuela' as the location for US military strikes of boats across the Caribbean. The strikes have also been adjacent to or in the territorial waters of 4 countries: Aruba, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and Bonaire & Curaçao, part of the Netherlands.

They removed a monument honoring American American soldiers who made the ruling sacrifice for their country, and put up monuments honoring an army that fought AGAINST the United States.

There is a thought the Kremlin is pushing this peace plan because this winter could be the undoing of Putin's ability to keep the Russian economy from tanking. Even with the US offering on again/off again support, the probability of Russia being stretched too far might be sooner rather than later.

It should be made emphatically clear to the White House there is no middle of the road with Ukraine. In exchange for giving up the nuclear weapons they inherited from the USSR, the US guaranteed to protect their sovereignty. No matter what Russia says. There was no expiration date on that pledge.

This election has shown the 19th & 20th century patterns of assimilation are very much past tense. Gone is the default to a supposed White Anglo-Saxon Protestant norm. Not totally irrelevant, they aren't the end-all be-all model for new waves of immigrants who find common ground amongst themselves.

At least 75 people are known to have been killed by the US military in the Caribbean and the Pacific, on what were purported to be boats smuggling drugs. No judicial charges (much less evidence) have been seen yet in a US court.

The teacher who was violently taken by ICE from a daycare center in Chicago was an American citizen.
Even if she did have a warrant for her arrest, how did they think it was okay to burst with guns into a classroom full of children? Have they no limits? Morals? Humanity?
