2025 took a toll on the world’s journalists. "Worldwide, the 126 media industry people killed in 2025 by early December matched the number of deaths in all of 2024.... The [CPJ] estimates there are at least 323 journalists imprisoned worldwide." www.courthousenews.com/a-rough-year...
A rough year for journalists in 2025, with a little hope for things to turn around
Worldwide, the 126 media industry people killed in 2025 by early December matched the number of deaths in all of 2024, and last year was a record-setter.

Is it crazy that the rate of homicides nationwide are dropping (not to the credit of this administration) while preventable deaths (directly as a result of this administration) are skyrocketing?

They've tried to impeach him twice without success. Maybe he should be impeared.

Neveryoumind there are people starving to death -on purpose- around the world, at the direction of this administration. "America first" to the rest of the world will make us indistinguishable from Russia or the PRC.

1. This isn't going to change the amount of drugs smuggled into the US by one gram.
2. Maduro should go on trial in Venezuela, by Venezuela, for crimes he committed against Venezuelans. Not Trumped up scurrilous accusations out of thin air.
3. Hands off their oil. They have a country to rebuild.

Remember what a great job the United States did with installing functional, democratic governments in Afghanistan & Iraq? Can you see the White House capably handle Venezuela?*

*they had a functioning democracy before Chavez, and don't need American expertise -especially not from THESE experts.

Kids, this was not an "arrest." This is not within the scope of regular law enforcement. He's not the first despot the US has done this to. But his justification for this action is like lighting a fire with wet wood.

Gosh. Richard Grenell interviewed on PBS New Hour is such a quisling bitch. Granted, it isn't easy to come up with a rational explanation for what's going down at the former Kennedy Center. And [sigh] he's but one of hundreds little gunsels running around creating havoc for this administration.

Stopping our doomscrolling for the first time in 2026 to find ourselves on LM-695 in Huarabi Alto, Santa Rosa de Macas, about 50 km northeast of Lima, Peru. If you're gonna plop yourself down in some random place on Earth, this sure as heck looks like a peaceful one, with no cell service.

Putin says, the fighting can stop if you just give him what he's fighting for. That's the simplicity of his way of thinking. At some point, as with all wild animals, he may reasess if this want of his is worth all the energy he's putting into it; or just dig in with a fatal singleminded obsession.

Listening to Rachel Maddow's interview with Professor Timothy Snyder, in his description of Trump + those surrounding him as grifters, it occured to me what we need is a child psychiatrist, or a psychiatrist familiar with old guys who act with the sensibility of a spoiled kid in kindergarten.

Actually, I'm hoping what President Biden did FOR this country should never be forgotten. Especially winning back the trust & faith of the world after Trump I.
Any and all statements like this that Trump makes about ANYONE, he is PROJECTING.

That is, he is unconsciously talking about himself.

I love it when the reporters keep using the phrase, "Untested." No mayor of New York (or anywhere) was mayor before they were mayor. You don't start out mayor of Amsterdam NY before becoming of mayor of New Amsterdam. The 'out of nowhere' mayor won 3 elections for NY State Assembly 36 (pop 121,852).

The administration signals it is trying to initiate regime change in Venezuela, yet they did a pretty good job of screwing over the legitimate political opposition to Maduro and leaving them to fend for themselves.
