Incredibly Paul Stanley’s 1978 solo album seems like an unsung classic, to my ears at least. As good as any Kiss record.

Probably very slightly prefer the Galaxie 500 record these days but I loved that Aerosmith album (and indeed all Aerosmith albums) as a teenager, plus I love an underdog, so I voted for Pump. It’s a blowout anyway, what the hell.

Imagine my surprise at discovering that Bros by Panda Bear is the greatest treadmill track of all time.

Keep forgetting about bluesky. Have I missed anything?

California Split being a comfort movie for me should probably be cause for some self-reflection. And yet.

Friend of mine told me last night he’d been “really getting into WAV files”

This is a pretty great Who record, I don’t know what the hell everyone else - Roger Daltrey included - is listening to.

Sitting out the back listening to The La’s, Orange Juice and The Modern Lovers and all of a sudden remembered I have beer. Quite possibly the greatest sunday evening in recorded history?

I got myself a DAP - the beautiful Hiby R4 - and it’s quite possibly the best decision I’ve made all year. Pic unrelated.

Pablo Honey sounds a lot better than it used to these days.

Re-listening to that most recent Tame Impala record, which apparently came out five years ago today. Tempus fugit! I lived in the CBD at the time and remember walking over to JB HiFi in quite warm weather to buy it on release day. I was a little disappointed, I think. I like it a bit better now.

Worth remembering, my fellow countrymen, that Australians generally don’t pay any attention to federal politics until the PM’s gone to Yarralumla at the absolute earliest. Not saying Dutton can’t win or that Albo isn’t vaguely unpopular but we don’t know anything right now. We can’t.

An astonishing collection. Barry Humphries was far from being a billionaire and the creation of this collection certainly put a dent in his millions but imagine if this was the legacy of your wealth rather than, say, exploding rockets, exploding cars and fascism.
The material remains of a glorious twentieth century life. I suppose there will never be a Barry Humphries institute or museum, but this makes me yearn for such a thing to exist. www.christies.com/en/stories/b...

Still very strongly feel that Black Country, New Road should’ve done a New Order and changed the name.

Just realised that if Labor get re-elected AND Albo lasts another full term he’ll be in our top 10 longest serving PMs. And you’ve gotta assume, given the ALP’s rules about changing leader, that if he does the former he’s a good chance for the latter. Doesn’t take much!

I may be completely off my gourd but I genuinely think You’re Under Arrest is one of Miles Davis’s best records

Couple of probably 18 year old lads on my tram talking enthusiastically about their solution for ramping. And yes, that’s right, you guessed right, their solution is… “better advertising”. Peter Malinauskas must be kicking himself!

Late to the work dinner because I was caught up in a bookshop talking to the proprietor about Samuel Pepys. Apparently I’ve been pronouncing it wrong all this time!

I watched 'The Return' for the third time just three weeks ago. You can lose yourself in it. Gets better every time.
RIP the genius that was David Lynch
This list of his best work is good - except why would "cinephiles likely be debating this distinction (Is it a TV show, or is it a movie?) for years to come?
Seriously? Why claim that excellent TV has to be a movie?

Many years ago I’d been on a couple of dates with a girl. They’d gone well. For the third date I suggested we go to the movies. I took her to see Blue Velvet at the Palace Nova in the East End. There was no third date. Vale David Lynch, creator of the ultimate dating litmus test.
