pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I don't think I've ever seen this either.. It's supposedly still there so now I have to go take a look.
100 years ago today, Sept. 21, 1925:

The traffic tower in Meriden, Connecticut, innovative at the time, began operation in the intersection of Colony and Main Streets. It became a local landmark, remaining in service until 1967. Today, the retired tower is displayed 200 feet from its original site.

Coyote vs. Acme is hopefully the spiritual sibling to Bob Hoskins' masterpiece, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I'm so looking forward to it. Glad it has so far avoided the chopping block.

Just another disturbing story from 2025. If COVID was an external threat and its response was bad. Can't have high hopes about an internal threat to the country.. just awful. Again, 2025 and measles is breaking out..? #wtf
Second measles death reported in Texas
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was expected to attend the child’s funeral, which is scheduled for Sunday.

ICYMI: USDOT is "reviewing" [meaning: attempting to take back] all funding awards for projects that include any bike infrastructure [among other things!] that were funded by the Biden admin but which haven't yet received their grants.

Elon Musk and his 19-year-olds have now disrupted the approval of medical devices that save lives.

Every member of Congress bears a responsibility to stop this right now.

Tremendous risk: EPA & NOAA staff canned. FEMA on chop block. Next Appalachian disaster will be a humanitarian crisis Kentucky isn't prepared for. Fed $$ drying up & extreme weather are not slowing in frequency nor intensity. If Rainfall Atlas updates stop, we aren't designing for the future either.

Kentucky and Tennessee have flooded repeatedly in recent years, but with little ability to develop land on higher ground, many residents are forced to continue living in high-risk areas.

... Change all your passwords and make sure they are unique. Enable 2FA on everything. Don't mark any computer, tablet, or cell phone as a 'remembered' or 'private device' so you never skip the 2FA. 🫣🤦

Making the wrong kind of splash: headlines not real help.
The water unexpectedly released from dams on Trump’s order didn’t help farms or L.A.

The Trump administration abruptly sent water flowing from two California dams. The action could leave less water in dams for the summer, when farmers typically use it.
