To be clear, I'm fully on board with a future where we live in a Star Trek utopia and all of that great stuff happens and is guaranteed to everyone, money doesn't exist, and work is done because we want to do it, not because we have to.

And the LAST person I trust to enact all of that is Elon Musk.

I mean, he’s the vector by which conservative reactionaries are getting a lot of what they want done - smashing government to pieces so private companies can profit, gutting regulations, destroying the lives of brown and black people, etc. They can live with him being awful and embarrassing

It costs about $200,000 per flight hour just to operate AF1. Add the Secret Service, pilots, advance teams, motorcades, and hotel bills, and a single multi-stop domestic trip can easily run $1.5 to $3 million. All to lecture people eating cereal for dinner about how great the economy is. 🫠

Yea we kinda don't like kleptocrats looting the nation while we pay more taxes than billionaires while their companies don't pay us a living wage while also price gouging us to death for goods while also having military troops on our city streets
