I saw that headline yesterday about stopping medical care. The cruelty and inhumanity of this admin. is almost beyond belief. I feel so awful for the immigrants detained in these hell holes, especially the children. I can't understand why the local health depts. aren't able to shut them down.
January 21, 2026 at 4:42 PM
That's okay. It's still a good thing! :)

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but certainly the Republican Congress is as craven & cowardly as I ever thought possible. They are happy to try to retain their power, prestige and pay at the expense of not only their own constituents, but the entire country & now the entire world. A pox upon them all.
January 21, 2026 at 4:36 PM
You are, sadly, totally right.
January 21, 2026 at 10:28 AM
Unfortunately, it seems you are right. Two things - 1. That the entire Republican Congress is okay with what he's doing, and 2. Corporate media reports on him like it's just another regular day in American and not a f--king 5- alarm fire!
January 21, 2026 at 10:27 AM
Good point. I think it is pretty unconscionable that no CEOs, no university presidents, no top law firms and, of course, the impotent Republican Congress have all been silent.

Rebecca - We are, indeed, living through a very awful and frightening time. I'm not sure citizens with more guns is the solution. Trump is a very sick individual with an Army he isn't afraid to use - on us! One can only hope enough members of the military would refuse to harm us.

Meant to write Don't hurt yourself.
January 21, 2026 at 10:18 AM
Ain't hurt yourself. :)

Every time this guy opens his mouth, I want to throw up. He is such a creepy sleeze.
January 21, 2026 at 10:17 AM
I think you have plenty of reason to think that, given all the wins The Supreme Court has given him.
January 21, 2026 at 10:15 AM
As are many of us. So awful. :(
January 21, 2026 at 10:15 AM
Connecticut native here - great picture.
January 21, 2026 at 10:12 AM
One can only hope.
January 21, 2026 at 10:11 AM
Totally agree, and he's a pretty poor excuse of a human being too.
January 21, 2026 at 10:11 AM
I hear you and I think it's a legitimate concern.
January 21, 2026 at 10:10 AM
Absolutely.
January 21, 2026 at 10:09 AM
Oh, I so hope you get a positive response to your submissions. Completing a manuscript is a huge accomplishment. Submitting it is an act of faith. All best wishes.

Very lovely memory.

Not to make light of your serious comment, but I'm a Realtor and we always say the best time to buy a house was yesterday. The second best time is today.
January 21, 2026 at 10:03 AM
Pretty much, Nicolas. I agree with you.
January 21, 2026 at 9:59 AM
This is an excellent summary of all the horrors of this administration.
January 21, 2026 at 3:05 AM
So horrific. They don't care what they do or who they hurt.
January 21, 2026 at 3:03 AM
I totally agree with you, Monica. Unfortunately, as I posted elsewhere, this Congress has undergone a self-inflicted, collective coma. They are, indeed, complicit, and we are on our own I fear. :(
