Covid isn't over. Left with little choice. (warning: lots of reposts)
This leads me to how the writers of Arknights (a Chinese game) probably know more about Australia and its history than me, a born citizen, because they have world-built an “Australia” that is a country of Rabbit-people - a country known as and owned by a mining company literally named ‘Rim Billiton’

Pollies giving cops more and more powers like the ability to cut people off govt payments without process: “it’ll be right, we have regulations and oversight! this is necessary. no harm done. safety first!”

Meanwhile, the Cops (getting away with it) every time:

“These resources were "very fortunate" for Britain, another Lord declared, since "they have very largely supported the standard of living of the people of this country and the sterling area ever since the war ended"”

Britain is simply not hated enough.

Also! I forgot to fit in earlier but 1 of the curious & fateful quirks of Japan's involvement with the (Records of) Three Kingdoms is that it's this period and work where the CN historical sources from that time record the significant written descriptions referring to the early Japanese female ruler

Japan's own "Warring States" Sengoku period. Parallels and comparisons which are particularly well-known and echoed in Koei's dual historic game franchises: Nobunaga's Ambition and Samurai Warriors (Sengoku Musuou) parallel to the Romance of Three Kingdoms (Rotk / Sangokushi) and Dynasty Warriors.

Those are perhaps the enormous '3 arrows' that made 3 Kingdoms such a continued presence attached to Japan's pop culture beyond the OG novel and historical connections to China &/or other folkloric traditions. (For example the relating & comparing of Three Kingdoms anecdotes & events to Japan's own

Then Koei's development of their RotK franchise (and art & character database assets!) intertwining with their more famous Dynasty Warriors ('Shin Sangokumusou' in JP) franchise (1997-) that *literally* became its own genre, 'Musou'.

And lastly, the interactive phenomena of the Koei Romance of the Three Kingdoms strategy game franchise (also titled Sangokushi!?) from 1985 onwards that draws on both historical Record and the Romance - extensively depicting probably all iirc ~1000+ characters.

the major point for modern reference is the wombo combo of Yoshikawa Eiji's popular retelling of the RotK novel, 'Sangokushi' (1939-43) which is then adapted into a popular manga, also titled Sangokushi (1971-87), by a fellow prolific goliath in his respective medium, Yokoyama Mitsuteru.

Rough explanation on the intersections here regarding Japan:

1. 3 Kingdoms (history & Romance tradition) has/had a significant popularity historically. I forget many details but afaik & iirc
