The “private event” in question was put on by the Consulate General of Israel. It featured Goni Saar from Elbit Systems and the Israel Police Attache to North America, Gal Ben Ish. It took place at Audrey Irmas Pavilion, an events venue, not Wilshire Boulevard Temple.

This is a extremely poor idea: "According to revelations in Guardian Australia this week, there will be no safety net – no scope for either the NDIA delegate or the administrative appeals tribunal to amend the budget. In other words, the computer will have the final say."

Genuinely believe a large majority of USians need to be sent to some kind of deprogramming from all the nationalistic "patriot" nonsense that gets drilled into them from early childhood, cause even the supposedly progressive ones are like this. They can't help themselves.

That's also why I think if you're a democrat in the USA or a labor voter down here who thinks that voting for the centre-left is going to fix it I really don't think you've been paying attention to the situation as it actually exists. Fascism is an international problem.

This leads me to how the writers of Arknights (a Chinese game) probably know more about Australia and its history than me, a born citizen, because they have world-built an “Australia” that is a country of Rabbit-people - a country known as and owned by a mining company literally named ‘Rim Billiton’

I keep thinking about this re: impacts of impunity, and what real solidarity for victims looks like.

In personal violence, and the general crisis of political corruption, rising racism, impunity seems to mean more violence, more contempt and power hoarding

As a disabled person:

— Increase accommodation availability to the maximum possible degree

— For the few accommodations where illegitimate demand will match supply unless restrictions are enforced, gatekeepers should have no allow/deny authority beyond disabled people and secondarily their doctors
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.
