This folk-horror novel by @lesliejandersonwriter has me looking at everyday things in a different light - and reminds me of the inescapable fear I had as a child when I'd finish barn chores and have to walk back to the house in the dark with the even darker dark of the forest behind me. Shudder.

“Our destination is just a little farther, around that corner,” EJ pointed. Bryson’s eyes followed and then he pulled back suddenly, mouth falling open. “Is that what I think it is?” Above the treeline, a little beyond the turn in the road, arcs of metallic green and silver were visible above the treetops. A little farther away, a spire rose, shining in the sun. Bryson looked back to EJ, who was grinning broadly, “Is that an amusement park? The ‘park’ you work at is an amusement park? Why didn’t you lead with that?” his face was shining with excitement. “Please tell me there’s funnel cake.” “Yes, there is funnel cake.” EJ laughed. “I’m surprised you didn’t already know about this. Didn’t you go online to check out the town you were moving to?” “Well… no. My parents made the choice, told me a little about it and that was enough at the time.” Bryson shrugged. “I was going through some stuff.” EJ paused, but Bryson didn’t elaborate

My partner has been asking me to shave off my mustache off and on for ages. I did it today as a gift for their 50th. The reaction I got from them has me thinking about keeping it off for a while. Reaction being they wanted to immediately 'hop on pop' ;) What do yall think?
