The “gym of life.” We picked where we live specifically to be within walking distance to our most frequent shopping and third spaces. I regret I’m still driving distance to work, but usually that’s only twice a week.
I swear there are young adults in our neighborhood that drive to everything.
I’m always curious to read/hear interpretations of this album. I’ve always felt like it’s somebody’s life rewinding in their mind before they die, but I’ve heard other compelling interpretations as well.
I’ve visited Portland many times and it’s the safest I’ve ever felt walking around in a major American city. Cars pre-emptively stop and wait as you get NEAR a crosswalk, ffs!
I had my car worked on last year at a garage that wasn’t walking distance but was definitely biking distance. When I dropped it off and then got on my bike they looked at me like I just did a magic trick.
