🚨 EXCLUSIVE: English hospitals that cut registered nurses saw more deaths while those hiring nurses saw more patients survive. Even when hospitals tried to fill gaps with non-nurses, deaths still went up. Major new study exposes dangerous NHS variation:

Using lower-paid workers to plug the gaps left by a failure to hire registered nurses damages safety, new research has shown

The other side of Christmas.
It could be any of us.

Good to see prevention front and centre of intervention going forwards.
In Liverpool, like most of the UK’s big cities, dozens of rough sleepers sit on the cold ground as people rush by to pick up their final Christmas shopping

I spoke to some of them about spending Christmas sleeping rough and whether they have any faith in the government’s plan to tackle this crisis
Liverpool's rough sleepers dreading Christmas on the cold streets
Those at the sharpest end of this emergency have little faith that government strategies will do anything to turn their lives around

Children aged 2 to 3 years can get vaccinated at their GP surgery and at some pharmacies that offer free flu vaccination.
Most other children of school age will be offered vaccination at school or in a community clinic.

love that Rachel Reeves says after listening to a nurse, she decided to reverse 2 child benefit cap as this would reduce ill health associated with poverty.

supporters of retaining 2 child benefit cap always state people should simply have smaller families...that is not something a child can ever control.. we have a responsibility to lift children and families out of poverty and it will pay for itself with better health and wellbeing.

That while lockdowns were needed, they left “lasting scars” on society, particularly for children.

Saw something similar the other day, shocking behaviour.

But even as a driver I get men beeping , flashing lights, then driving up alongside of me, giving me the finger, shouting and calling me "dolly daydream" for simply observing a 20 mph speed limit..
it's time for non drivers to be priorised.

It's not just resident doctors who can't get jobs on qualifying, lots of nurses, physio etc are also unable to, yet we desperately need them and must do everything possible to retain them given there are global shortages of such staff.

Mealy mouthed apology from Pochin after her outright racism here. When she says she will endeavour to make sure her language is more accurate in future? What is a more accurate way of her saying she can’t stand seeing black and Asian people on TV?
Sarah Pochin has apologised. Sort of.
