Got something incredible, heart rending, exciting, surprising, tragic, witty, complex… it’s so, so good and as this poster says, a different beast than the original novel.

Both seasons of Interview with the Vampire are on Netflix. One of the best literary adaptations in the history of television, it takes all the source material's strengths and transmogrifies all its weaknesses, like The Terror. Cruel, disgusting, sexy as fuck. Plus: Eric Bogosian! Do not walk, RUN.

25/Detective Comics#1101 by @tomtaylormade.bsky.social and @mikeljanin.bsky.social, heavy on the detective stuff this time, and of course Tom Taylor writes it excellently. A twist on a familiar Batman trope makes for an interesting new case!Mikel Janin doing beautiful work with Bats as always.A gem!

24/Black Diamond#1 by Brendan Columbus, @danilobeyruth.bsky.social and Lee Loughridge, just so absolutely horrible, a man's child is taken, but he can have him back... So long as he gives the kidnappers a replacement child. What this genre? Moral horror? It makes me deeply uncomfortable!

23/Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite Of Spring#3 by @patrickhorvath.bsky.social simple, but devastatingly effective. We all knew Sam was a rotten apple, but this issue makes everything we know about her pale in comparison. Her past, and now her games in the present... Ugh! Horrible!

20/Skinbreaker#1 by @robertkirkman.bsky.social, David Finch and Annalisa Lioni, brilliantly executed story which lays out and introduces us to an entire culture and world and at the same time gives us a drama about fatherhood, rivalry and leadership. Insanely detailed artwork and gorgeously colored!

19/Escape#2 by @remender.bsky.social and Daniel Acuna, one of my favorite series of the entire year so far, this time we find out how one of our survivors ended up enlisting and what's driving him to keep going through the horror of war. Exceptionally written and stunning to look at. So, so good.

Once, two friends got very drunk and rowdy, they had a screaming match in front of a convenience store about the morality of Gimli and whether or not he was a hero. So serious it looked like it could come to blows. I was howling with laughter and holding a lamp post to keep myself up.
